Title: Floyd Rose request

Muramasa - June 20, 2010 09:55 PM (GMT)
Can you recommend a good Floyd Rose bridge for an Ibanez Rg570?

I really want to use the vibrato on that guitar, but the bridge is old.... If you can recommend some resistent and not very expensive one, I'll be really glad. I want to "abuse" a bit of it, only a bit.

What bridge is currently on the guitar?

It has the original bridge. Since I blocked it to avoid stopping playing when playing live (when a string is broken), it still works ok, but it looks old and is not in a very good state.

You'll have to decide for yourself, it comes down to personal preference.

My choice for floating bridges is definitely the Edge Pro, though many find the Lo-Pro superior. I prefer the feel of the former one.

And to say about OFR's... I really dislike their feel.

The RG570 depending on year will have either an Original Edge or a Lo Pro Edge trem in it. If you're looking to fit a new trem I would recommend that you fit one of those. Both the Edge and Lo Pro Edge will fit and for me they are the best locking trems on the planet and better than an OFR.

+1 to that

Thanks, this is very appreciated. I will check one of those (Original Edge, Lo Pro Edge). I will also ask my teacher also about the OFR.

take a picture of the bridge so we know which one it is

Thanks, but I think the "problem" is solved since you recommend two options which seem the best.

The original bridge is also a bit rusty... I'll remember to ask my teacher what kind of bridge is it.
