Title: Favourite Musical Decade??

So guys what would you say your fave musical era was. Here you can vote for the decade that you think spawned the best/music albums etc.

For me it was definitely the 80's. I started playing the guitar then, Yngwie Malmsteen appeared on the scene followed by the likes of Tony MacAlpine, Vinnie Moore, Paul Gilbert etc plus all the great bands that we now know and love appeared or where firmly established ie. Metallica, Dio, Megadeth, Bon Jovi, Slayer etc the list goes on and on.

The '80s was also the deacde that I was happiest in my life and have great memories from.

I'll have to abstain from voting: music evolves constantly, and every single day in the process is significant. I don't feel comfortable judging any period as they all play an important role in taking music to where it is and where it's going to.

Besides, every decade has had up and downsides.

1980's for sure!

For the same reasons as ID really. Except for the being happiest part since I wasn't born then... :D

1980s.

Although, I do like the 1950s because that was a great time for jazz. Coltrane, Wes Montgomery, Miles Davis, Charlie Christian, Lenny Breau ect. did great stuff in that era. Also, the public appreciated music much greater than they do now. They also had a lot of music shows in the 50s and 60s. That's a rarity nowadays. I never see a classical music performance on tv anymore. All they show are singing contests, music videos, and dance contests.

So hard to pick. I like the 60's, 70's, and 80's a lot. Psychedelic music of the 60's, the classic rock of the 70's, and the shred and great rockers and ballads of the 80's. Also the time where Neo-Classical Metal was in its prime with Yngwie, Vinnie Moore, and Tony MacAlpine. I'll have to select all 3 decades.
