I know nothing about tremolo systems... My tremolo bar bent one day when my guitar strap fell off while I was standing up (I have strap locks now :D )
Haven't got a replacement since. When I had one, I used it a LOT, now that I don't have a tremolo bar, I don't care too much that I would buy another :P

In my opinion the best floating trems ever made are the Ibanez Edge (original) and the Lo Pro Edge. They are essentially the same trem with the Lo Pro Edge having a flatter profile thus keeping the fine tuners out of the way of your picking hand. Those trems are way better than any Floyd Rose imho.
The Ibanez Edge Pro is also a good sysytem but does benefit from having locking studs fitted.
All those other Ibanez trems such as the Lo TRS, ZR, Edge Zero, Edge II and Edge III are made from cheaper alloys and you'll usually have problems with the knife edges on most of those.
It all boils down to personal taste. I know some guys who like the original LO TRS systems and the Edge Zeros.

I have a Lo Trs. It's pretty good. It's real hard to have all string perfectly tuned to their pitch because each pitch shifts when you tune a string. It'll stay in tune for a long time too.

None of the ones listed: Edge Pro. Essentially a Lo-Pro, but I just love the feel of it.

so is a Edge Pro good, the one on the $1000 and $1500 Ibanezes?
is it made out of steel?

And why are Edge Zeros deployed on higher end Prestige if they're made of cheap metals, when (according to Acousolysis) Edge Pros are good, and are featured on cheaper Prestiges?

The Edge Zero is made in China from cheaper materials to obviously save on production costs and does suffer as a result. The below article may make for an interesting read:

Also I've Got an edge 3 in my RG350EX its a 2008 model and its still holding up well. I believe it is a decent bridge for the price. Still If i could i would have gotten a used RG from the late 80s or early 90s since the Edge's on those were more than perfect.

I still can't believe how many models have the edge 3 :(

Exactly ac/dc.....plus why when you have systems like the Edge and Lo Pro Edge do you discontinue them?? I think I read somewhere that the moulds used in making those trems had largely worn out but if that's true why not just make new moulds??? Ibanez have also been trying for a while to get round the Floyd Rose patents issue but I'm sure that a lot of those patents have now expired.

Yea the Orginal edge is by far the best trem system ever I guess the Lo-Pro would be about 2nd i guess then OFR. I loved the edge. It is much better than my edge 3.
I think the Original Ibanez Edge is a preety cool guy. Eh kills other trem systems and dosen't afraid of anything.
-for explanantion of the quote above check out encyclopedia dramatica's article on preety cool guys.
