hey guys whats up? Just started this to ask u guys to name ur favorite metal bands taht are non-screamo, mines are megadeth, iron maiden, and pantera (i think pantera is thrash metal? w/e)

malikshreds - April 20, 2010 11:48 PM (GMT)
You didn't have to say non-screamo.
We basically know what Metal is.
Black Sabbath, Ozzy, Dio, I would say Van Halen and David Lee Roth album with Jason Becker but those are hard rock.

Cobra Strike, Buckethead, Giant Robot II, Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden. Metallica, Megadeth. I can't really name them. I always forget my favorite metal bands. Especially since my only rock station plays crappy rock songs all the time.

IbanezDaemon - April 20, 2010 11:55 PM (GMT)
AC/DC
Iron Maiden
Dokken
Dio
Rainbow
Deep Purple

Steve5513 - April 21, 2010 01:00 AM (GMT)
Metallica
Megadeth
Iron Maiden
Black Sabbath
Black Label Society
Ozzy Osbourne

Don't know if you lump Death Metal in with Screamo (I don't and I wouldn't agree with it if you did but w/e) but Death and Amon Amarth are both very awesome. Particularly Death.

So you're into extreme metal genres after all? Check out Death, Atheist, Necrophagist, Opeth, Devin Townsend and Cynic.

Arguably the best vocalist ever to embrace to world; frontman of his bands The Devin Townsend Band, Devin Townsend Project, Strapping Young Lad among others; also did the vocal duties on Steve Vai's record Sex & Religion, which was one of his first professional jobs.

All in all, a musical genius of our time.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor though I wouldn't call that metal. More like post-rock.

malikshreds - April 29, 2010 05:29 PM (GMT)
I like some of nowadays metal. I barely know any bands though. There's so many bad rock bands that they cover up the whole radio. I never hear any new bands on the radio. I do Slipknot, mushroomhead, and some others. i gotta ask my friend for some suggestions.

Acousolysis - April 29, 2010 06:52 PM (GMT)
Between the Buried and Me is ok, I guess. Haven't listened to them all that much, though.

malikshreds - April 29, 2010 11:32 PM (GMT)
Yeah, i heard about them. They're pretty cool.
